Heart First
I feel deeply for people. I always have. After all, we’re all on this big old rock together, trying to make sense of life, trying to survive, trying to stay whole. But everything around us seems designed to create separation instead of unity — rules, systems, expectations, labels, status, fear.
And yet… I see so much community here.
I see people buying full meals for strangers who don’t have food.
I see people stepping in quietly, without needing credit.
I see hearts moving before wallets.
It amazes me.
It touches me.
Because I do the same — whenever I’m able.
And when I don’t have money to offer, I try to keep my heart first. I offer an ear. I offer my insight. I offer presence. Many times, people treat my words like currency — and I understand that deeply, because I’ve done the same.
Good words can lift you out of mental or emotional debt.
Good words can give you breath again.
Good words can return sight to someone who’s been walking blind.
Sometimes compassion isn’t money.
Sometimes compassion is clarity.
Sometimes compassion is presence.
Sometimes compassion is simply being available.
I make myself available when I can, as much as I can, while still maintaining myself. I try to move with a heart that stays open, even when life is heavy.
All the glory is the Lords
In the Jesus name,
Amen.
