Strength in Motion
Today offered one of those small but meaningful moments — the kind that doesn’t announce itself, but still deserves to be documented. I reached out to co‑parent to let her know A simple update, nothing dramatic. But it opened the door to a deeper conversation.
We spoke for about an hour.
Or more accurately — she spoke, and I listened.
She vented, she updated me, she shared where things stand, some of life’s usual pressures. But even in all of that, she’s feeding our children, tending to them, tending to herself. She’s deeply emotional but she’s also strong. It’s an interesting balance to witness up close.
And it reminded me of something I’ve always known:
Strength doesn’t always look stoic.
Sometimes it looks like someone feeling everything and still choosing to keep going.
It’s inspiring to see someone’s struggle firsthand and still see them progress and maintain. Not perfect. Not polished. Not effortless. But present. Alive. Choosing to live. Choosing to do more. Choosing to care.
There’s a quiet dignity in that — the kind that doesn’t get celebrated, but should.
I guess we’re all like that in our own ways.
Strong and emotional.
Capable and vulnerable.
Carrying weight and still moving forward.
We just express it differently.
But witnessing her strength today — in the middle of everything she’s navigating — deserves recognition. It deserves documentation. It deserves to be part of the RCC archive.
Because this is what real life looks like.
This is what resilience looks like.
This is what choosing to live looks like.
And today, I got to see it clearly.
