Strides, Not Leaps

Coming back home after a trip always hits differently. I spent time with my brother, his wife, their kids — and I saw my own children and their mother. Those moments refill something in me, even when life is still moving fast. But now I’m back in my space, back in my workflow, back in the rhythm of securing my life flow.

There’s a pivot happening with RCC, a shift toward building the archive — the long game, the foundation work. It doesn’t look loud from the outside, but it’s a stride. And strides matter. They stack. They carry you.

Today reminded me of that. I put off my oil change last week, (way too hot during the day and working overnight) tried again today, and still couldn’t get it done because the oil filter was stuck. I went through my usual DIY troubleshooting, tried what I could, even bought a new tool and when it didn’t budge, I didn’t spiral. I didn’t dwell. I didn’t turn it into a setback.

I just acknowledged the truth:

Sometimes you need a more experienced hand.

Sometimes you need cooler weather.

Sometimes you need a better moment.

And none of that means you’re failing.

It means you’re still moving.

That’s the real win — not getting stuck, not freezing, not letting one stubborn problem derail your momentum. Forward is forward, even when the step is small. Even when the step is quiet. Even when the step is simply choosing not to stop.

I’m focused. I’m aligned. I’m not dwelling.

I’m building my archive, my flow, my life.

And I’m still moving — that’s the stride.
